Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Mining Construction Coordinator (Civil/Concrete) to oversee on-site civil and concrete construction for a large mining EPCM project within the Earth & Environment team. The role supports field execution aligned with engineering, procurement, and project controls across the U.S., with Nevada/Utah location preference.

The candidate will lead safety-focused construction management, coordinate multiple vendors, and ensure regulatory compliance for open pit mining environments,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of large-scale heavy civil construction, concrete pours, or mining infrastructure.
• MSHA 48B Surface and OSHA 30-hour training preferred.
• Experience translating designs to field scope, schedule, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction oversight for civil, earthworks, and concrete elements on mining projects.
• Manage contractors and field teams focusing on safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Interface between contractors, engineering, procurement, and project controls for effective communication and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with design engineers and geotechnical teams to support constructability and field changes.
• Drive safety culture and ensure site health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspections, and material testing to meet specs and safety requirements.
• Support procurement and field implementation of key materials and systems.
• Develop and manage construction execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and cost tracking.
