Job summary

SSVA, a New Charter Technologies company, seeks an Infrastructure Specialist to manage Cisco Meraki, Azure, and automation across client networks. The role covers deployment, monitoring, and escalation handling for multiple SMB clients in a remote-capable position with occasional travel.

Responsibilities include building runbooks, optimizing networks, and coordinating with carriers, while maintaining strong documentation and security practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience serving small and mid-sized businesses in a services-based environment.
• 5+ years of networking experience, including Meraki support.
• 3+ years supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• 3+ years in automation using Python or PowerShell.
• 3+ years handling network/server/Azure alerts with automated runbooks.
• Able to install Meraki networks from hardware receipt to user testing.
• Ability to apply the OSI model to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Coordinate with network suppliers and carriers to resolve tickets.
• Use packet analysis to identify root causes of user-impacting tickets.
• Experience installing Meraki Cloud Firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN environments.
• Strong technical awareness and ability to map resources to issues.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-care skills.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
• Typing skills to enter service requests accurately.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Certifications such as AZ-104/140, CCNA, Meraki are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment and ongoing management of SSVA’s standardized tools and security administration.
• Diagnose latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues using Meraki Dashboard and packet captures.
• Respond to escalations, coordinate with providers, and drive resolution.
• Develop automated runbooks and integrate with APIs for remediation.
• Monitor and harden Cisco Meraki environments and related networks.
• Travel to client sites for on-site engagements when needed.
• Collaborate with leadership to balance enabling and securing client ecosystems.
• Create and maintain disaster recovery, security, and backup plans.
