Job summary

The Texas Tribune, based in Austin, is hiring a Membership Coordinator to grow and retain members through digital fundraising campaigns and outstanding donor service. This hands-on role focuses on gifts under $1,000, cross-channel campaigns, CRM accuracy, and turning data into actionable insights to drive revenue and community.

Reporting to the Director of Membership and Individual Giving, you will collaborate with Development, Growth, and Audience teams, travel within Texas as needed, and help

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in nonprofit journalism, development or related fields.
• Experience managing program activities from idea to execution.
• Proficiency in digital fundraising and/or marketing in email and social media.
• Customer service skills via email and phone.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Independent work style with ability to collaborate across stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail with multiple projects.
• Creative thinker who can engage readers and grow membership.
• Interest in Texas politics and policy.

Responsibilities

• Support membership programs across the organization to meet revenue goals.
• Lead digital fundraising campaigns via email, website and social media.
• Assist with strategy communicating the Tribune's mission and impact.
• Provide prompt customer service and maintain member records.
• Represent membership at in-person events across Texas.
• Produce reports on progress and inform decisions with data.
• Document processes and stay current with industry best practices.
