Job summary

Premera Blue Cross in Oregon is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform complex reconciliation, enrollment, and billing activities for individuals and groups. This telecommuter role focuses on accuracy, customer service, and compliance, with a path to develop expertise in healthcare contracts and membership processes.

Requirements include an associate or higher in accounting/finance, plus 2+ years of related experience; health/insurance background preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. (Required)
• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate's Degree in accounting/finance. (Required)
• One year prior experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera position with reconciliation experience. (Required)
• Health or insurance industry experience. (Preferred)
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies independently.
• Process refunds, premium transfers, reinstatements, and enrollment changes with accuracy.
• Validate accounts receivable by auditing premiums and membership records.
• Use Excel/Access reports to update eligibility, enrollment and reconciliation data.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes.
