Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform moderate to complex reconciliation analysis and audit activities for individual or group accounts receivable. The role supports enrollment, billing issues, and compliance, with hybrid/telecommuter expectations across time zones.

Responsibilities include resolving complex discrepancies, processing refunds, and coaching internal/external customers on contractual guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two years of recent accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate's Degree in accounting/finance/bookkeeping.
• Health or insurance industry experience preferred.
• Experience with enrollment and accounts receivable processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies; process refunds and transfers of premiums.
• Verify accounts receivable by detailed reconciliation of premiums and membership.
• Use Excel/Access and system reports to update eligibility and enrollment.
• Meet department metrics for production and quality; maintain accurate notes and documentation.
• Educate members, brokers or groups on membership and billing processes.
