Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform reconciliation analysis and audit activities for individual or group accounts receivable. This remote role supports operations across time zones, handling enrollment and billing issues, and ensuring accurate records with minimal supervision.

The position emphasizes complex account reconciliation, correspondence with members and brokers, and adherence to policies while maintaining high service levels.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s Degree in accounting/finance/bookkeeping is required.
• One year prior experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera position with reconciliation experience is required.
• Health or insurance industry experience is preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve enrollment, reconciliation, and billing issues.
• Perform detailed reconciliation analyses for accounts receivable.
• Process refunds, premium transfers, reinstatements, and NSF issues.
• Maintain accurate notes and documentation of activities.
• Use Excel/Access reports to update eligibility and enrollment records.
• Meet department metrics and stay current on company policies.
