Job summary

Premera Blue Cross is seeking a Membership Specialist II to perform moderate to complex reconciliation analyses for individual or group accounts receivable, addressing enrollment and billing issues with minimal supervision. This role supports financial risk management and member satisfaction across Pacific/Mountain/Central time zones.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years accounting/finance/bookkeeping experience or an Associate’s Degree in accounting/finance.
• One year prior experience as Membership Analyst I or in a Premera position with reconciliation experience.
• Health or insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, resolve and document complex reconciliation discrepancies independently, processing refunds, transfers of premiums, reinstatements, and enrollment changes as needed.
• Validate accounts receivable by detailed reconciliation and audit of premiums and memberships.
• Utilize tools/reports in Access or Excel to update eligibility, enrollment and reconciliation of accounts.
• Meet department metrics: production and quality standards and stay current on policies and procedures.
• Educate members, brokers, or groups on membership and billing processes, including portal usage and contract interpretation.
