Job summary
Gentask Virtual Assistance Services is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant to support an Urgent Care facility by handling patient phone inquiries, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification. Remote, full-time 7 hours daily.
The role requires experience in medical customer service, familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, and strong English communication; Spanish bilingual is a plus. Candidates will protect HIPAA and join a healthcare team for long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant or in healthcare customer service.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar is a plus).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and scheduling protocols.
- Strong English communication; Spanish bilingual is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Answer and triage patient calls professionally and empathetically.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments based on patient needs.
- Assist with prescription-related concerns, including refill requests and pharmacy coordination.
- Verify insurance coverage and in-network status for patients.
- Help patients complete missing forms and paperwork.
- Document patient interactions accurately and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
