Legacy Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to coordinate and fulfill medical records requests across the organization. You will validate requestor identity, authority, and required authorizations, identify and prepare responsive records, and ensure delivery via approved secure methods.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in health information management, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Prior experience processing releases of information or medical records requests in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
• Familiarity with subpoenas, legal requests, record-retention requirements, invoicing, and payment reconciliation.
• Experience in medical records, health information, release of information, administrative records, or related functions.
• Working knowledge of confidentiality requirements, HIPAA privacy standards, and the minimum-necessary principle.
• Ability to review requests and authorizations for completeness, validity, scope, dates, and delivery instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple requests and deadlines, perform basic fee calculations, and handle payments accurately.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, document-management tools, secure delivery platforms, email, and standard office applications.
