Job summary

Highmark Inc. is seeking a Records Clerk to obtain and manage medical records to ensure accurate member health documentation and optimize risk-adjusted revenue.

You will coordinate with providers, prepare records for digitization, and ensure HIPAA security and confidentiality across all processes. The role requires travel to offices and Highmark campuses as needed, with strict adherence to deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of prior health care and/or health insurance experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio.
• Must complete all access requirements including SSN and photo ID to retrieve medical records.
• Preferred RHIT certification.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and PHI privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect medical records within tight timeframes and document activity in systems.
• Contact providers to request records and coordinate retrieval methods.
• Prepare hard copy records for conversion to electronic images.
• Communicate with team and providers to meet deadlines.
• Travel to provider offices or Highmark campuses to obtain and prepare records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
