Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Records Coder II to code complex hospital and outpatient records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4. You will coordinate junior staff, ensure accurate DRG/APC assignments, and contribute to education initiatives across the revenue cycle.

The role is 100% remote for eligible states and offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid over 24 months, with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. Applicants should hold RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D credentials and demonstrate coding

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications required.
• No experience required for RHIA or RHIT.
• CCS requires one year of coding experience.
• CPC or HCS-D requires two years of coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions.
• Coordinate/review the work of designated employees and assist with education.
• Abstract data from medical records for optimal reimbursement.
