University of Rochester seeks a Medical Records Coder II to review edits and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for accurate data and professional payments. This is a full-time role located in Rochester, NY, with a 40-hour work week and detail-oriented responsibilities across coding workflows.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and limited relevant experience; credentials such as RHIA/RHIT or CPC are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10CM, CPT and HCPCS preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred.

Responsabilités

• Reviews system edits and assigns appropriate codes from coding classifications to ensure quality data and accurate payments.
• Prepares reports for designated leaders and documents recurring issues.
• Troubleshoots problems delaying claims and consults with internal customers or vendors when documentation is unclear.
• Responds to coding information requests and supports Providers and staff with coding guidance.
