Job summary

Raintree Systems, Inc. in the United States (Remote First) seeks a Payment Reconciliation Specialist to ensure timely posting, deposits reconciliation, and accurate follow-ups with payers.

You will manage logs, perform month-end closing tasks, and investigate discrepancies while supporting clients with inquiries. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in medical insurance posting, strong Excel and Office skills, and familiarity with payer contracts and reimbursement rules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical insurance posting experience.
• Knowledge of payer contracts & government reimbursement rules.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Google applications.
• Skilled in using computer applications for payment posting with an understanding of A/R follow up.
• Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement policies.
• Experience with medical billing software (Raintree Systems experience a plus).
• Experience in performing tasks that require basic accounting and math skills.
• Proactive curiosity and basic AI fluency to identify efficiency gains and streamline workflows.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain logs and spreadsheets used for reconciliation; review deposits and supporting documentation to enable accurate posting.
• Investigate, research, and resolve outstanding deposits; contact clients and payers for information as needed.
• Identify and research information to clear posting errors and follow ups.
• Participate in month end closing.
• Retrieve and post remittances from payor websites when needed.
• Research unidentified payments and recoupment to determine resolution.
• Identify patterns and trends indicating issues and notify leads or supervisors.
• Assist clients by answering inquiries and providing information.
• Reconcile daily cash deposits to billing system and bank.
• Special projects and assignments as needed.
