Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Medical Director for Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS). This role provides clinical oversight for cellular therapies, leads medical strategy, and collaborates with internal teams and external partners to advance donor eligibility, product specifications, and regulatory alignment.

You will oversee regional medical activities, ensure compliance with FACT, CLIA, and FDA standards, and guide program development while engaging stakeholders and driving

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in transfusion medicine or hematology/oncology.
• Proven leadership in program development for cellular therapies and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Partner with executive leadership to expand collection footprints and optimize production of cellular products.
• Contribute to expansion of cellular services through outreach, partnerships, and new programs.
• Serve as medical office representative at committees and liaise with biotech partners on donor eligibility, product specs, and trials.
