Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a physician leader to direct Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) Medical Director and Regional Medical Director responsibilities, overseeing cellular therapies, donor programs, and regulatory compliance.

This 100% remote role requires MD/DO with board certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology, 5+ years in cell therapy, and knowledge of FACT/AABB standards. Strong leadership across US teams is essential.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Preference for 5+ years in Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Experience with FACT accreditation and AABB standards.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations for HCT/Ps.
• Proven leadership in program development and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Expand collection footprints and optimize production of cellular products.
• Support outreach, partnerships, and sales teams as needed.
• Serve as medical liaison for biotech partners and committees.
