Job summary

MedWatch is seeking an Intake Coordinator to handle incoming calls, emails, faxes, and website inquiries to collect patient demographics and assess precertification needs based on contracts. This remote position emphasizes accuracy, multitasking and excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include logging cases, making outbound calls, processing Webcerts, and coordinating communications with nurses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent data entry and typing skills.
• Medical terminology knowledge.

• Knowledge of customer service principles.
• Some experience in a call center or customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully and diplomatically.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office Suite products.

Responsibilities

• Handle all incoming MedWatch calls and log cases.
• Make outgoing calls for demos and case completion.
• Process outgoing calls for dates and discharge information.
• Complete incoming electronic Webcerts.
• Send out CM Reports/Invoices and Path letters.
• Handle incoming Path letter responses.
• Attach and distribute faxes (100–200 daily).
• Make outgoing calls to DMTHR patients and transfer cases to DM nurse.
• Follow up on nurse requests via email and CM inbox.
• Verify patient and provider demos; correct as needed.
• Manage fax issues and re-fax when necessary.
• Create cheat sheets, documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
• Set follow-up dates for HRAs and make DM patient calls.
• Handle mailing for UR, CM, and DM.
