Job summary

gobravvo is seeking a Medical Insurance Follow-Up Representative to resolve outstanding accounts receivable and insurance denials for hospital and physician billing. This remote, full-time role supports both commercial and government payers, with emphasis on accuracy and timely reimbursement.

You will review UB-04 and HCFA 1500 forms, collaborate with internal teams, and leverage multiple billing systems to improve cash flow. A strong eye for detail and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of healthcare revenue cycle management or similar field experience.
• Experience with hospital and/or physician billing processes.
• Familiarity with insurance follow-up, denials and UB-04/HCFA 1500 forms.
• Proficient in billing systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, McKesson, Allscripts or Soarian.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based systems.
• Ability to multitask across multiple software platforms.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• Ability to sit for long periods and lift up to 15 pounds.
• Strong communication skills via phone and computer.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable.
• Resolve denied, underpaid, and unresolved claims for hospital and physician billing.
• Investigate aging accounts and payer issues; address eligibility discrepancies and coding questions.
• Review UB-04 and HCFA 1500 forms for accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate professionally with payers, clients, and internal teams.
• Identify payer trends and workflow barriers; escalate complex issues for reprocessing.
• Submit corrected claims, rebills, secondary billing, and appeals.
• Document all activity and correspondence per company standards.
• Collaborate with payers to resolve outstanding claims and improve cash flow.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards across tasks.
