Job summary

MEDHOST is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. This remote role requires learning hospital systems, researching complex claims, and coordinating with third-party payors to obtain necessary information for resolution.

You will work with AI-enabled tools while maintaining security and compliance. The role involves following up on insurance payments, handling 40–50 accounts daily, gathering required

Qualifications

• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes impacting insurance reimbursements.
• Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with telephone systems for outbound/inbound calls.
• Must be flexible with a 'can do' attitude and maintain professionalism under pressure.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years' experience in related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on hospital patient accounts for insurance payment; verify claim status and rebill as needed.
• Handle 40-50 accounts per day for assigned payor(s).
• Gather demographics, medical records, authorizations, and related information to resolve claims.
• Identify and prepare less complex claims for reconsiderations/appeals.
• Deliver education and training to new hires and assist less experienced colleagues.
• Perform research on accounts and route through appropriate workflows.
• Review and adjust accounts per payor and client guidelines.
• Coordinate with other teams to resolve project issues and improve workflows.
• Maintain MEDHOST Quality Management System compliance and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Attend role-based education courses and participate in special projects.
