Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Medical Director for Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) to lead medical oversight of cellular therapies and related programs. This role pairs strategic direction with hands-on clinical leadership for internal teams and biotech partners.

Ideal candidates hold MD/DO with board certification in transfusion medicine or hematology/oncology and have experience with FACT/AABB standards, regulatory compliance, and clinical trial alignment.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
• Preference for 5+ years in Cell Therapy and HSCT, negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical strategy and operations for regulated cellular therapies (HPCs, CAR-T, Leukopaks).
• Lead medical office engagement with TCS programs and external partners.
• Serve as medical liaison for biotech partners on donor eligibility, product specs, and trials.
