Job summary

Optum Insight, a part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a remote team supervisor for a distributed group of medical coders supporting multiple clients. The role is full-time, with Monday–Friday hours and potential overtime as needed, including onboarding new hires and ensuring coding quality.

You will guide performance, coordinate with HR/IT, monitor productivity, and serve as the primary hospital contact. AHIMA/AAPC certification and ICD-10/CPT expertise required.

Qualifications

• Current Professional Coding Certification with AHIMA or AAPC maintained annually.
• 3+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience.
• 3+ years of acute coding experience and knowledge of reimbursement structures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a remote team of edit coders supporting multiple clients.
• Monitor performance and day-to-day activities of up to 25 remote employees.
• Onboard new employees with HR and IT provisioning.
• Coordinate coverage for edits and denial work queues.
• Liaise with hospital clients to provide access and support.
