Jobrapido is seeking an accomplished Medical Coding and Education Specialist to join our healthcare team as a remote role, preferably in Texas. The role focuses on enhancing coding accuracy and compliance within post-acute care facilities, reviewing records, and developing training materials.

The position requires at least five years of experience and CCS or CPC certification, with compensation of $65,000–$75,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Must have at least five years of experience in medical coding with a professional certification.
• CCS or CPC certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-acute care coding experience in settings such as skilled nursing facilities.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and related guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Conduct regular coding audits to ensure compliance with guidelines and reimbursement policies.
• Develop and deliver educational materials and training on coding guidelines and documentation requirements for post-acute care.
• Collaborate with providers and operations to clarify documentation and coding issues; provide feedback for improvement.
• Work with the technology team to optimize EMR processes and reduce denials; improve reimbursement rates.
• Stay updated on healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and post-acute care reimbursement practices.
• Review medical records to assign precise codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems.
• Educate providers on best practices for documentation to support proper coding and reimbursement.
• Provide onboarding and refresher training for new and existing staff.
