Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of medical coding experience in post-acute care.
• CCS or CPC certification required.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits to ensure compliance with guidelines and policies.
• Develop and deliver educational materials and training on coding updates and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with providers and operations to clarify documentation and coding issues.
• Work with the technology team to optimize EMR processes and reduce coding denials.
• Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and reimbursement practices for post-acute care.
• Review medical records to assign precise ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Conduct audits to identify errors and improvement areas.
• Develop training for providers on proper documentation and coding.
• Educate providers on best practices for compliant documentation and reimbursement.
• Train new providers and refresh existing staff as needed.
• Coordinate onboarding-driven training to ensure proper coding at start.
