Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education (AAPC course or coding program).
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology; CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code outpatient E/M services and procedures using CPT-4 and ICD-10 from medical records.
• Abstract billing for outpatient codes including HCPCS codes and modifiers.
• Research coding/billing issues and consult with physicians or coding consultants as needed.
• Analyze medical records to verify coding accuracy and identify potential patterns of abuse.
