Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education (AAPC course or Coding program).
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology / Medical terminology required.
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient evaluation and management codes, minor surgical procedures, and HCPCS codes.
• Assign CPT-4, ICD-10-CM codes and modifiers from provider documentation.
• Research coding/billing issues and consult with organizations as needed.
• Analyze medical records to determine coding accuracy and identify potential patterns of abuse.
