Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a CPC‑certified Medical Coder to abstract clinical information and assign CPT‑4 and ICD‑10 codes from medical records to support professional fees. This 100% remote role requires experience with outpatient E/M coding, minor procedures, and HCPCS codes, with testing completed onsite in Marlton, NJ prior to interview.

The successful candidate will have at least two years of coding experience, familiarity with EHR systems, Anatomy & Physiology knowledge, and strong

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education (completion of AAPC course or completion of Coding program at trade school).
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Detail oriented with high accuracy and the ability to make sound decisions.
• Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology and medical terminology; CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient E/M codes, minor procedures, and HCPCS codes from provider documentation with CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM coding.
• Research coding/billing issues for physicians and identify the best coding method; may involve AMA and specialty societies.
• Analyze medical records to assess coding appropriateness and collaborate with Coding/Charge/Audit teams.
