Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to support outpatient E/M and procedure coding. This remote role requires CPC certification and 2+ years of coding experience, translating clinical documentation into CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes.

Candidates should be proficient with Windows-based systems and electronic health record platforms. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and full benefits for full-time remote staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education (AAPC course or Coding program).
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Previous experience with an electronic health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/ Medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient E/M codes and procedures; assign CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Review and resolve coding/billing questions with physicians or staff.
• Analyze medical records to assess coding accuracy and potential abuse; collaborate with Coding/Charge/Audit teams.
• Support documentation and coding accuracy to ensure compliant billing.
