Sprinter Health is hiring a Medical Coder to review and abstract professional medical records, ensuring accurate code assignment across CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, and HCPCS. The role emphasizes coding quality, compliance, and productivity in a remote setting.

You will validate documentation supports all codes, query providers when needed, and stay current with coding updates, while contributing to audits and process improvements in a fast‑growing, mission‑driven company.

Qualifications

• Active professional coding certification (AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS-P/CCS).
• Minimum 3 years of Pro‑Fee coding experience.
• Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and modifiers.

Responsibilities

• Review and abstract professional medical records and notes.
• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers per guidelines.
• Ensure codes are supported by documentation and query providers when needed.
• Maintain coding quality metrics (accuracy, productivity, compliance).
• Participate in internal and external coding audits and provide process feedback.
• Stay current with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and CMS risk adjustment updates.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
