Job summary

Sprinter Health is seeking a Medical Coding Auditor to conduct audits of medical coding for CMS, payer, and internal standards. Remote, full-time temporary through January 31, 2027, with responsibilities including education delivery, audit prep support, and reporting on coding accuracy.

You will review ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, develop actionable improvement plans, and stay current with guidelines. Ideal candidates have CPC/CCS credentials, 3+ years coding experience, and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Active AAPC CPC or AHIMA CCS-P/CCS certification.
• Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience, with 1–2 years in auditing, QA, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of HCC/risk adjustment coding and clinical documentation improvement.
• Excellent knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and modifier assignment.
• Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and focused audits of medical coding for compliance and quality.
• Develop and deliver education to coders and providers to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation and response, including documentation requests.
• Maintain audit tracking logs, productivity reports, and accuracy metrics per policy.
• Review records and claims to assess ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and modifier assignment accuracy.
• Identify coding errors and trends; prepare detailed audit reports with actionable findings.
• Stay current with AAPC/AHIMA/ CMS guidelines and payer policy changes.
