Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with a Medical Coder. You will attach images to electronic health records, verify legibility, locate FINs and link documents to veteran records.

You will index documents by section, note title, date of service and visit location, and perform 100% internal QA before submission. VA/federal healthcare coding experience is preferred; 3+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in medical coding or VA/federal healthcare settings.
• Experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems preferred.
• Active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent).

Responsabilités

• Accurately attaching images to the appropriate electronic health record elements.
• Verifying that images are uploaded correctly and are legible for viewing.
• Locating Financial Identification Numbers (FINs) and linking documents to the correct veteran record.
• Indexing documents within the correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Performing 100% internal QA on all work before submission.
