Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with Medical Coders. This role focuses on attaching images to electronic health records, verifying legibility, locating FINs, and linking documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle.

Attention to detail and data entry accuracy are essential for 100% internal QA before submission. Candidates should have active coding credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC or equivalent) and strong experience with VA or federal healthcare

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of medical clinics and clinical documentation.
• Ability to locate FINs and link documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle.
• Indexing documents within correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Verify that images are uploaded correctly and legible for viewing.
• Data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Prior experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems
• Active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) required.
• VA or federal healthcare coding experience preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately attaching images to the appropriate electronic health record elements.
• Verifying that images are uploaded correctly and are legible for viewing.
• Locating Financial Identification Numbers (FINs) and linking documents to the correct veteran record.
• Indexing documents within the correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Performing 100% internal QA on all work before submission.
