Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center with Medical Coders.

The coder will attach images to the EHR, verify legibility, locate FINs, and index documents by section, note title, date of service, and visit location. Candidates must have knowledge of clinical documentation, experience with Cerner/Oracle or similar EHR systems, and an active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical clinics and clinical documentation.
• Ability to locate FINs and link documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle.
• Ability to index documents by section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with Cerner/Oracle or similar EHR systems preferred.
• Active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent) required.
• Prior VA or federal healthcare coding experience preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately attaching images to the correct EHR elements.
• Verifying uploaded images are legible and correctly associated.
• Locating FINs and linking documents to the correct veteran record.
• Indexing documents by section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Performing 100% internal QA before submission.
