Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is recruiting a Medical Coder for The Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The role involves attaching images to electronic health records, verifying uploads, and indexing documents to veteran records with precise attention to detail.

Candidates should have 3+ years of relevant experience, knowledge of Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems, and an active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent). VA/federal healthcare coding experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in medical coding or health record management.
• Experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR systems.
• Active coding credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent).
• Ability to locate FINs and link documents to veteran records.
• Strong data entry and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Attach images to the appropriate electronic health record elements and verify uploads.
• Ensure images are legible for viewing and correctly linked to records.
• Locate FINs and accurately link documents to the correct veteran record in Cerner/Oracle.
• Index documents within the correct section, note title, date of service, and visit location.
• Perform 100% internal QA on all work before submission.
