LMH Health is seeking a remote Coder II to accurately code and abstract medical records, review documentation, and support data quality across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will stay current with coding guidelines and participate in department quality initiatives.

The role requires coding credentials and current ICD-10 knowledge, with on-site meetings as needed. This position is fully remote for candidates living in Kansas or Missouri after onboarding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of one of the following: Certificate Coding Associate, Certificate Coding Specialist, Certified Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, Registered Health Information Administrator.
• 2+ years of prior coding experience.
• ICD-10 Knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate behavior consistent with LMH Health Cultural Beliefs: Patient First, Be Bold, Own It, Speak Up, Better Together, and In Joy.
• Reviews inpatient and outpatient medical records to identify principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Use computerized encoding system to code according to the classification system.
• Sequence diagnosis and procedures following ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, UHDDS, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
• Cross-trained to assist with backlog in outpatient/ED coding as needed.
• Collaborate with medical staff to obtain documentation for optimal hospital payment and accurate data input.
• Prepare workload reports and participate in quality improvement studies.
• Abstract data for discharge data and complete demographic information for KHDS submission.
• Review and initiate corrections for data quality and regulatory compliance.
