Job summary

Riverside Health System is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder II to join our CDI-driven coding team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, support DRG accuracy, and collaborate with CDI to optimize reimbursement while adhering to state and federal guidelines.

This remote-eligible role supports candidates in FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, MS, NC, OK, SC, SD, TN, VA, with strong AHIMA credentials and inpatient coding experience rewarding accuracy and turnaround.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; HIM program preferred.
• 3–4 years inpatient coding experience in acute care.
• AHIMA/APC certifications are required or preferred as listed.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to determine DRG and reimbursement.
• Abstract relevant information from patient records.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures per coding guidelines.
• Apply POA indicators and verify discharge dispositions.
• Query providers when documentation is unclear or incomplete.
• Maintain four-day turnaround times for inpatient coding.
