Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a Professional Coder II for a fully remote role with initial on-site training. You will code professional services across multiple specialties, review documentation, and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and E/M codes in line with AMA/CMS guidelines.

Requires an associates degree or equivalent, CPC/COC/CCS/Credential or RHIT/RHIA, and 2+ years of coding experience. Remote work after probation, onsite training as needed at Kansas City location.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in education and experience.
• Current AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification or RHIT/RHIA/CEDC.
• 2+ years medical records coding of CPT/HCPCS & ICD-10 for multiple specialties.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement rules and LCD/NCCI edits.
• Strong CPT, ICD-9/10-CM, HCPCS coding and medical terminology knowledge.
• Familiarity with PATH documentation guidelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Code professional services accurately from medical record documentation.
• Review and assign correct ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS and E/M levels per AMA/CMS guidelines.
