Qualifications

• Minimum High School/GED
• Completed coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
• 1 year of Hospital and/or Physician Coding
• 1 year coding at mid-level facilities or clinics
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations and/or E/Ms

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets medical information to determine ICD-10-CM/CPT codes
• Abstracts data elements and enters coded information into the designated system
• Assists in efficient cash flow by managing unbilled coding reports
• Keeps updated on ICD-10-CM/CPT guidelines via training and clinics
• Performs other duties as assigned or required
