Job summary

This remote role allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Required credentials include AHIMA/AAPC certification and 2+ years of coding experience, with proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.

Qualifications

• Analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze health data
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS classification
• Understanding of HIPAA and privacy regulations in health data
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to providers and teams

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Review provider documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Enter data into encoder/abstracting systems per guidelines
• Ensure coding meets KPI-driven timelines
• Support governance and education activities within HIM
