Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Professional Coder I to transform clinical notes into precise ICD-10-CM and procedure codes. Start with onsite onboarding, then enjoy fully remote work with occasional onsite visits for training.

You will review professional services across specialties and ensure codes align with AMA and CMS guidelines. Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or equivalent, active CPC-A/COC-A/RHIT/RHIA, and solid knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and third-party payers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Active coding certification: CPC-A, COC-A, RHIT, or RHIA.
• Solid knowledge of reimbursement programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers.
• Familiar with medical billing systems, NCCI edits, LCDs, and correct coding sequences.
• Comfortable with computer systems, EHRs, and billing platforms.
• Clear communicator with a sharp eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Review professional services across multiple medical specialties and assign the correct ICD-10-CM, procedure, and E/M codes.
• Ensure compliance with AMA and CMS guidelines in coding practices.
• Onboard onsite briefly, then transition to fully remote work with occasional onsite visits for training or projects.
