Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to evaluate medical records, assign ICD-10 and CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient services, and ensure accuracy. This is a full-time, on-site role with collaboration across clinicians and revenue cycle teams to maximize compliant reimbursement.

The ideal candidate has hospital coding experience, AHIMA-certified training, and familiarity with Meditech or 3M coding systems, enabling effective education and ongoing coding guidance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding principles per AHIMA competencies.
• 1+ year of coding experience in hospital/acute care facilities.
• Able to achieve acceptable accuracy on coding audits.
• AHIMA-approved coding certificate; RHIT or CCS preferred.
• Prior hospital coding experience required.
• Meditech experience preferred; 3M Coding & Reimbursement experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of medical records, anatomy, physiology, pathology, terminology, and coding classifications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medical records and assigns accurate ICD-10/CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Ensures coding accuracy and quality standards with audits and pre-established metrics.
• Serves as liaison between clinicians and the coding staff and supports the revenue cycle.
• Supervises coding education and dissemination of current guidelines to staff.
