Optum is seeking a Senior Medical Coder for remote nationwide work. You will perform concurrent review of FFS coding within Epic, ensuring CPT and E/M codes are accurately coded for maximum reimbursement and minimal denials.

The role requires at least 3+ years of coding experience with multiple specialties, and certification from AAPC or AHIMA. You will mentor others and contribute to revenue-cycle improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience including multiple specialties.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS and guidelines.
• Strong medical terminology, disease processes, anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards.

Responsabilités

• Perform concurrent review of FFS coding rules within Epic.
• Assign accurate CPT and E/M codes for maximum reimbursement.
• Identify unclear documentation and generate provider queries.
• Follow up with providers to obtain timely responses.
• Resolve coding edits or denials and support audits.
• Educate and mentor others to improve coding quality.
