Job summary

Synthires is seeking experienced Medical Coders to contribute to AI-focused projects, applying outpatient coding expertise to review, annotate, and validate clinical documentation. You will assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and ensure compliance with E&M guidelines and medical necessity standards.

This remote contractor role offers flexible project-based work across the United States. Prior AI experience is not required; strong coding skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Active CPC certification with AAPC.
• Experience applying outpatient E&M guidelines.
• Hands-on outpatient coding in physician offices or hospital outpatient settings.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and annotate outpatient medical records including office visits and ambulatory services.
• Assign and validate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
• Apply E&M guidelines using medical decision-making or total-time methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with outpatient coding conventions and medical necessity requirements.
• Link diagnoses to procedures and review for gaps or inaccuracies.
• Provide feedback on coding decisions and collaborate with project teams.
• Contribute to high-quality datasets for AI training and evaluation.
