Integrated Management Strategies (IMS) LLC is a women-owned small business based in the Washington, DC area with a national footprint. We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our healthcare consulting practice.

The role is fully remote within the United States, supporting DoD-related coding and compliance. The ideal candidate will hold AHIMA or AAPC certification with ICD-10 expertise, 3+ years of DoD coding, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Active coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC and ICD-10 certified.
• 3+ years of DoD medical coding, re-coding, abstraction, analysis, and data assembly.
• Ability to secure a DoD security clearance.
• Proficient with MS Office 365 applications.
• Experience across multiple medical specialties (e.g., Behavioral Health, Cardiology, ER, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 CM, E/M, ICD-10 PCS, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers and units per documentation.
• Follow multi-specialty coding standards across clinical settings.
• Meet required SLA and address audit findings promptly.
• Complete government system training and annual updates.
• Maintain PHI/PII protection and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with Site/Project Manager and team members.
