Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a skilled medical coder to accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes for professional claims at Capital Health Medical Group. You will apply AMA and CMS rules to ensure precise procedure and diagnosis coding across hospital and outpatient services.

Requirements include CPC-A, CPC, or CCS-P certification with at least two years of physician coding experience; familiarity with EMR systems and surgical coding guidelines is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPC-A, CPC, or CCS-P certification required.
• Associate’s degree in health information management preferred.
• Two years’ experience in physician coding preferred.
• ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical coding guidelines and EMR systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Reviews CPT-4 procedure codes and modifiers for professional procedures.
• Validates ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes.
• Assesses E&M codes based on provider documentation.
• Ensures coding accuracy to support appropriate reimbursement.
• Collaborates with billing, revenue integrity, and other teams to fix issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
