Signature Performance, a healthcare coding firm in the United States, seeks a skilled Medical Coder to assign diagnoses and procedures from medical records, ensuring compliant coding under CMS and insurer guidelines.

You will review discharge data, determine DRG/APC classifications, and abstract demographics while maintaining accuracy and data integrity within the billing system. Minimum 2 years of experience and AHIMA or AAPC credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience required.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation to assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Determine diagnoses and procedures and assign codes per guidelines.
• Ensure correct code selection and compliance with CMS, federal and insurer regulations.
• Sequence codes by clinical significance to determine DRG/APC or payment tier.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract data from records and correct errors in the system.
