Job summary

Methodist Medical Group is seeking a professional medical coder to review documentation and assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services. You will support cardiology and cardiothoracic providers with accurate coding and timely claim submission.

The role requires experience with CMS guidelines, good communication with clinicians, and proficiency in Epic EMR. Training on-site with remote work after a 3-week period is available, and a strong benefits package accompanies the

Qualifications

• Two years of professional coding experience, or one year with two years of HCC experience.
• Strong knowledge of CMS manuals, federal and regulatory guidelines and correct coding policies.
• Proficient in electronic medical record software, preferably Epic.
• Ability to communicate written and oral coding information to healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation to assign CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for professional services.
• Review inpatient and outpatient charges for Cardiology and Cardiothoracic providers.
• Research coding inquiries and educate providers on correct coding and documentation.
• Maintain 90% coding accuracy and required production.
