Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in Dallas is seeking a medical coder to review documentation and assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes for professional services. You will interpret records, perform research, and educate providers on correct coding practices.

The role supports multiple specialties, with on-site training for about three weeks followed by remote work. You will work M-F, 8:00–16:30, reporting to the Coding Manager, and maintain high productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years professional coding experience or one year coding experience with two years of HCC experience.
• Strong knowledge of CMS manuals, federal and regulatory guidelines and correct coding policies.
• Independently disciplined in time management and productivity.
• Experience with electronic medical record software, preferably Epic.

Responsibilities

• Review charges for Maternal Fetal Medicine and OB/GYN clinics and assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes, modifiers and units.
• Research coding inquiries and educate providers through written communication.
• Handle specialty work queues across Trauma, Orthopedics, GI/Bariatrics, Transplant, Cardiology, ENT, Radiation Oncology, or General Surgery.
• Review and correct edits for timely payer submission and maintain 90% coding accuracy.
• Participate in education programs and monthly department meetings.
