Job summary

BCA Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Claim Collector for a remote, full-time role supporting creditor clients by resolving claim denials and non-payments through documentation and timely follow-up.

You will maintain records according to company policies and procedures. The Medical Insurance Collector will work with insurance companies to determine the cause of denial or non-payment, prepare and submit documentation, and follow up until payment or recourse

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years working in a healthcare revenue cycle environment with a concentration in the areas of insurance billing and collections.
• Advanced knowledge of the healthcare insurance environment to include managed care, governmental and commercial insurance carriers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound and make outbound calls regarding insurance related matters and maintain clear and concise documentation of all attempts and/or contacts directly on the computerized collection system.
• Research and analyze accounts by gathering records and examining historical data to resolve obstacles to payment.
• Verify insurance to confirm benefits using various sources including insurer websites.
• Review claims and maintain productivity standards for timely follow-up and current information on accounts.
• Contact payors to affect payment on claims and identify trends in payment delays.
