Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with strong billing, coding, and insurance experience. You will work with patients and payers to ensure accurate reimbursement using EHR/EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, and PrognoCis.

Requirements include CPC/CCS preferred, 2+ years in medical billing, and solid knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, with excellent communication and organizational skills. Remote work potential based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• CPC or CCS certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, insurance follow-up, and EHR/EMR use.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems like Epic, Meditech or PrognoCis.
• Familiarity with payer guidelines and HIPAA compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance payers and third-party organizations.
• Code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates for procedures based on insurance coverage.
• Verify billing data accuracy in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Use EHR/EMR platforms (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis) for billing workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals following payer guidelines.
• Communicate billing details with patients regarding coverage and responsibilities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and payer requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims to maximize revenue.
