Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance processes. You will handle claims, coding, and communication with patients and payers to ensure accurate reimbursement.

The role requires proficiency with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis). Some remote work may be available based on experience, with opportunities to collaborate across departments and improve denial management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.
• CPC or CCS certification strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of medical billing, coding, and insurance follow-up experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR systems such as Epic/Meditech/PrognoCis.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurers and third-party payers.
• Code procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards.
• Generate cost estimates for procedures based on coverage and contracts.
• Verify billing data in EHR/EMR systems prior to submission.
• Utilize Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis for documentation and billing workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals following payer guidelines.
• Communicate billing questions and coverage with patients.
• Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with clinicians to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
