Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a qualified Medical Billing Specialist to expertly handle billing, coding, and insurance processes. You will work with patients and payers to ensure timely reimbursement, applying ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding within EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis).

This role emphasizes accuracy and communication, with strong attention to detail and collaboration with clinical staff to optimize revenue. Remote-work options may be available depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• CPC or CCS certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in medical billing, coding, and insurance follow-up with EHR/EMR experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with Epic, Meditech, and PrognoCis.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit claims to insurance companies, government payers, and third-party organizations.
• Code using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS for procedures and diagnoses.
• Generate cost estimates based on coverage and contracts.
• Review billing data in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Use EHR/EMR platforms (Epic, Meditech, PrognoCis) for billing workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals per payer guidelines.
• Communicate with patients about billing questions and coverage.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
